The Versatile Blogger Award

We want to thank Whisppy for giving us the fantastic Versatile Blogger Award!

And now we have the honor of choosing the next award recipients (cue Allie's squee!)
Here are the VBA rules:
  • Thank the person who gave you this award. That’s common courtesy.
  • Include a link to their blog. That’s also common courtesy — if you can figure out how to do it.
  • Next, select 15 blogs/bloggers that you’ve recently discovered or follow regularly.
  • Nominate those 15 bloggers for the Versatile Blogger Award.
  • Finally, tell the person who nominated you 7 things about yourself.
We would like to nominate the following bloggers for the award:
  1. Ayla, Iza & of Mark's Mews
  2. Sebastian of Sebastian the Sensitive Soul
  3. Bunny Jean's Blog
  4. PumpkinPuddy of Adventures of a Suburban Kitty
  5. Mario & M of Mario's Meowsings
  6. Sweet Prancer Pie
  7. Austin & his mum at CATachresis
  9. Random Felines (they just blogged about Loews - YAY!)
12. Baby Patches of Confessions of the Plume
13. Boris Kitty's Pawesome 4 Paws for a Cause
14. Tatiana & Bailey of Chatty Cat Corner
15. Allie's fave fashionista, Daisy of Daisy the Curly Cat

Whew! That's a lot of bloggies! We think we needz a treat, now, Mommy. No, RILLY!

uh, wait. We still gotta tell people 7 things about ourselves.

Our Seven Things

(Faraday: Two for me, an' one for you, and two for ME... OW! Allie! Quit thumping me!)

  1. Faraday was weaned too young as a kitten. Who knew that came with so many quirks & oddities?
There's the tendency to suck on plastic bags (groceries are instantly put away & the bags go into recycle because of that)...
and the middle of the night, burrow-under-the-covers, nipping proclivity (accompanied by extraordinarily loud purring).
  2. Because he came to us completely deaf and with raging ear infections, Max isn't comfortable being lifted. We assume that's because the infections affected his middle ear and sense of balance (he didn't try jumping up onto anything until those ear canals were healthy!). To this day, his gait is a bit clumsy and he really hates the sensation of being airborne.
  3. Allie sounds like a cross between Marge Simpson and Edith Bunker when she's mad. And she gets mad at Faraday a LOT.
  4. Max has no front teeth. Because of his infection, he lost all 12 of his milk teeth.
  5. All three cats hate kitty treats! Instead, they split a 3 ounce can of grain free food twice a day - and think they're getting this incredible deal. Much healthier than the stuff that comes in treat bags.
  6. Allie refuses to eat grain-free food no matter how many different ones Mommy tries out on her. She fusses if there are even ten tiny little pieces of kibble mixed in with her Pink Nutro. (Doesn't she realize that the pink label is the diet version? Seriously, that cat is addicted to pink
  7. Maxie just invented a new game of Hide & Seek with mommy last night, all Faraday wants is another Wand Toy and Allie hates the neighbor kitty with a purple passion!
If you haven't met the kittehs in the blogs we're passing this award along to, stop by and say hello to these pawesome people!

  4. Hi Kids, since we are new to your blog, we loved reading your seven cat-facts!!! Our mum says Faraday can come and burrow under the covers here any time he likes :-) Did you know our Casper is completely deaf? That sometimes happens with blue-eyed, white kitties. Did Max's hearing return when his ear infection was cured?

    1. His hearing is now only partially restored in one ear.

We discovered he has a deformity in the other ear (the eardrum is tissue thin & dangling) so he'll never hear in that one. The scope went straight through to the back wall of the middle ear when they did his surgery!
(was that TMI? Faraday LOVES gruesome & gory stuff, LOL!)

The surgery was actually to remove a polyp in the *other* ear...which gave him some hearing...though it's monaural, so he's still considered hearing impaired as he can't tell what direction a sound is coming from.

Aren't deaf kitties awesome? We'll actively seek out a deaf kitty the next time we adopt, since we seriously don't understand why people would avoid them!

AND thanks for including us in the fifteen blogs to pass on to. Very chuffed :) We do already have it though, so it would be a bit show offy to have it twice in the side bar. But we will give due ackowledgement as we do enjoy your blog very much xox

  8. Thank you for the award. I don't know what 7 things I could possibly come up with that you all don't already know about me, but I'll try really hard.

Allie - I'm with you about the pink stuff. That's the nutro we get here too even though none of us are on diets.

  9. Congrats on your award, and thank you for thinking of me, too! I can hardly believe you do not enjoy treats. Since I eat grain-free, my treats are all single-ingredient freeze-dried treats. My current favorite is freeze-dried chicken liver. Yum!

  10. Please don't kick me out because I'm a dog advocate?

Poor guy... a raging ear infection. Wow, if mommy's gotten him well, she must be very patient and understanding.

I bet you guys have awesome histories. Well, see you around.

    Nice meeting you.

    Huggies and Cheese,

  11. Oh Dog! Congratulations! That ear thing with Max reminds me of how Malachi came to us. Fortunately we think he can hear and he seems to have no residual damage.

    1. Oh my cat - Malachi had bad ear infections too? We hadz noooo idea how many months of treatments it could take to truly get rid of them. *sigh* Poor Malachi...
