"Fun Finds" Friday

If you have a fun find you'd like us to feature, send us a shout-out by clicking on the Contact Us tab above.

Seems like everyone has a smart phone these days. So what of you wanted to pack more information on your dog's tag than there is room? Here's your answer.

A QR code dog tag allows you to use your smart phone's camera with a barcode scanner app to learn all about the lost little pup that wandered into your yard.

Here's how it works: you buy the QR code tag from scanapet for a one-time price of $50 and scanapet will host a web page with your pet's vital information - for free, forever.

Scanning the QR code tag with a smart phone will load the web page and provide the finder with all the info they need to reconnect you with your lost pet.

Although we strongly advocate for microchipping and a simple tag with name and phone, this QR code tag is a nice add-on, if the $50 price tag isn't too steep.

  3. That's actually a great idea! Mind you, our human doesn't even have a smart phone, but yes, most humans seem to, these days. Great use for the technology.

    1. We agree. More and more peeps are jumping on the smartphone bandwagon that it just makes sense to use it to help animals(our mom should have geek tattooed to her forehead, she's so into it - MOL!)
