My name is Poppy and I'm the cutest little poppet you've ever seen.
Some people tease me that my face must have been designed by an artist who couldn't make up their mind: a little mustache on one side, just a dot of color on the other, and a little spot on my nose when maybe they dropped the brush!"
"I don't mind - I think I have a very distinctive look. Some people say it's darn cute.
I'm a paw-sitive pussycat, so we're going with that.
Things got off to a rough start for me here at Great Plains when someone left me outside in a carrier.
I was mighty scared in the dark by myself, not knowing what was happening to me. It took me a day or two to calm myself, and all the loving and kind people here made it really easy for me.
They assure me that I'm going to find a forever family, so I'm keeping my ears and eyes open to pick myself a good one.
Are you looking for a sweet-natured cat to join the family? I'm available - in fact I'm ready, willing, and able. Just think of all the times we can sit together on the couch and you can vent when your favorite team drops the ball or gets a 10 yard penalty. I can listen and help you feel better about that.
Getting things off your chest helps a lot. I can watch a corny old movie that makes you cry every time, or sit with you while you surf the net looking for the perfect accessory to complete the new living room. I'll even meow quietly when you find the purr-fect item to tell you to buy that one. Helpful, aren't I?
All I ask in return is the basics - good food, fresh water, a clean litter box, some love and attention and some regular brushing. I hope you come down and meet me today - I really want a new family meow...I mean "now".
Poppy is available today at the Merriam Campus of Great Plains SPCA!
