Thursday's Purrs: Dash

"Could you use a dash of spice in your life? Well, I'm your guy!

Hello, my name is Dash, and I'm a handsome, medium-haired black kitty with beautiful green eyes. I came to Wayside from another shelter that was low on space, and so far I am loving being here, meeting lots of new people and hoping to find the right one for me very soon!"

"I'm a super friendly, confident cat who gives great headbutts. I'm cuddly, and I don't even mind being held or having my belly rubbed. I also make great biscuits with my paws, so maybe I can help out with your fall and winter baking.

Got a favorite recipe you want to try out?  *flexes paws* I'll just limber up here a bit and I'll be ready to go in a jiff!

One of my favorite things to do here at Wayside is free roam the Cat Adoptions area. I love to explore, and I'm easy going, I never cause any trouble.

You know where I'd really like to roam? In my new home, with my new person or people.

Could it be you?
Love, Dash"

Dash is available at Allie's Alma Mater, Wayside Waifs. Come meet this sweet, sweet boy today!

A Belated Celebration of Wildlife

Waffles: Hey Boss? It says here that we missed National Wildlife Day. Isn't that every day around here?

Uh, Boss, do things look different around here to you? Isn't there supposed to be a lot more pink?
And chicken? Where's the chicken?

Katie: That's because you're on someone else's blog, Waffles. With all that teal and white, it must be Allie's blog.

Waffles: You mean Faraday's blog.

Katie: No, Waffles, I said exactly what I meant.

While the mom was away in Colorado cavorting with other cats, she also got some pretty great shots of wildlife. We (grudgingly) gave her today to observe National Wildlife Day.

Which, we would like to point out, isn't today at all. It was Monday. Not that we're criticizing her for getting it wrong.

No, and we won't criticize her for abandoning us, either. Nope, not doing it.

Moody skies at Rocky Mountain National Park

Faraday: Okay, Waffles. Enough, already. You can leave now and go back to your pink blog and stuffs.

Waffles: You say that like it's a bad thing. I don't mind pink. Am I supposed to mind pink? Boss?
...Boss?

Rare photo of a potentially disgruntled Waffles
Huge thanks to Katie, Waffles and Glogirly for opening their home to our mom.

(and we know it's a bit late, but is anyone interested in seeing photos of the eclipse, from Ground Zero ~ Totality, here in Kansas/Missouri?)

Not So Fair Play

Maxwell: Dood, you know how you always shove your head in my face and ask me to groom it for you?

You know, like this?

Faraday: Your point, Maxie?
Maxwell:  Well, I figure it's my turn.

(cue crickets)

Maxwell: Seriously, dood? Seriously?

After all the times I've groomed you?

Faraday: *heavy sigh*

Sheesh, Maxie. It's nothing personal. I don't do windows, either.

Thursday's Purrs: Columbus

"Well hello there!

I'm Columbus, a classic short haired red tabby with the sweetest little puppy dog (uhm, I mean kitty cat) eyes."

"I'm known around here for being a big, cuddly teddy bear who never met a person I didn't like. The volunteers here say I'm all sorts of kind and loving, and it's true! I looooove being petted, and won't say no to the occasional treat."

"One of my favorite things to do around here is get out of my kennel and have a chat with visitors and other volunteers. I just have so much to say!

Just call me Chatty Columbus. (Or not. Hey, who wrote this script anyway? *peers at the lady behind the keyboard*)

Truth is, I am a vocal kinda guy, and I'd love to talk to you.
Come by any time and visit me. I'm the handsome moggie in kennel A2.

Hope to see you soon!
Columbus :)"
