Thankful Thursday

It is good to have annual reminders of the things we surely feel every day, yet often do not voice.

With Thanksgiving one week from today, we'd like to take this opportunity to say:
We're thankful for YOU.

Be sure to check out this week's uber adoptable kitty, Punkin!

Thankful Thursday: A View From Above

Many thanks to all the pilots who donate their time
 - and the wear and tear of their own aircraft  -
(not to mention the cost of aviation fuel!)
to help get these pets one step closer to their forever families.

We wish cats were more comfortable being flown by groups like
Pilots 'n' Paws, Flying Paws and other private pilot rescue transports.
From what we understand, most dogs don't mind the view!

Thankful Thursday: Therapy Dogs

A few months ago, I got a call from a close friend of ours. He was at the hospital with their 8 year old son who had just broken his leg. X-rays had revealed something unexpected: cancer.

I won't go into the details, but as you can imagine, these recent weeks have been both heart-wrenching and grueling. Hospital stays for energetic 8 year old boys are trying under the best of circumstances, but weeks' long chemo treatments are No Fun.

So you can imagine what a treat it is to see a friendly, furry face walk through the door for a special visit.

To everyone who volunteers their time training these amazing dogs - and then sharing their beloved pets with others in this generous and thoughtful way...

Thank you.

Thursday Thanks!

Thank you!

Our thanks to everyone who took the time to fill out last week's survey.

The results are in, and we're excited to announce that tomorrow we're introducing a fun new weekly series.

And nope, we're not gonna tell you. Where's the fun in that?

(You're sadistic, Faraday. You know that, don't you?)

Seriously, we think you're going to like it! (*squee!*)
Oh! And Mother says to tell you she reads you loud and clear... more Allie!

Uhhhh.... More...Allie? *doubtful look*

*whispers* You guys might want to rethink those votes. HONEST.

Thankful Thursday

We're thankful we have a week's relief from the 100° + heat we've been having!
(Now if it would only rain....)

Thankful Thursday

We're thankful that 2 years ago today, a sweet little (deaf) blue point Siamese baby was born.

We love you Maxie!

Thankful Thursday

Great news:
We're thankful that another kitty lost in the fire - Pewter - was just found and reunited with family!

Amy mentioned the other day that this must be something like what the Joplin tornado survivors must have experienced: losing everything and having to rebuild.

We're thankful that - unlike so many in Joplin - neither Amy nor Kathi were injured in the fire.

And we're thankful for healing, and the gift of time.

As we approach the one year anniversary of Joplin, we continue to see stories of hope and healing, and we're thankful that this will eventually come to Amy & Kathi as well.

And we're thankful for the local news outlets, both television and newspapers, who continue to help owners search for their missing pets by spreading the news about them.

One such story is Razor's - the five year old Husky who lived in the apartment across from Amy. His owners had just left to run an errand moments before the fire....

Thankful Thursday

Since today's Thanksgiving...and in just a few short weeks, I celebrate my "gotcha" day with Mother & Daddy...

I wanted to share all the things I'm thankful for.

A wonderful family (well, except for Faraday, sometimes)...
Food to eat, a warm place to sleep...
And a lovely back yard to play in.

*sigh* oh, okay and even my own purrsonal bodyguards who shadow me when I go out to keep me safe. *grudging look at Mother*

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
