Wednesday's Waif: Mufasa!

Oh MY. Now here's one irresistible lover-kitty:

Meet Mufasa!

"Hi there,
My name is Mufasa. I am one of the sweetest, gentlest, friendliest cats you will ever know.

I came from a hoarding group, and many believe I was the dad to several of the other cats brought to Wayside. I was fostered for a few weeks, and my Foster Mom totally fell in love with me.

What can I say, I am a charming guy!

I love to be petted, I love to be held. And I LOVE to be kissed over and over and over.

I also like to climb up onto people's shoulders and backs, and give gentle headbutts to their face. (And I give pretty good back massages, too - just check out my video, and see for yourself! Anyone looking for a masseuse? I'm your mancat!)

I am a soulful kind of guy who likes to look right into your eyes. I am playful too. I love me a good round of chase with the toy mouse. Well, and wand toys, of course. What kitty doesn't like those?

Overall, I am pretty mellow and just happy to be around you. My personality is called the "Personal Assistant," and my Foster Mom says that is absolutely correct.

It means I am medium brave, and that I will want to hang out with you throughout the day. I would be great in any home, with kids, seniors, you name it. (I am not sure how I would be with a dog, as I have never lived with one.)

Foster Mom says I am purrrfect. I bet you will think so too when you come out to meet me.

I hope that'll be soon!

Headbutts & purrs,
Mufasa"

Mufasa is available for adoption today at Allie's Alma Mater, Wayside Waifs!

November: Adopt a Senior Pet Month

Since this month is Adopt a Senior Pet Month, in honor of our sister Allie (who's SO old), we asked Mommy to make a Top Five Reasons list on why Senior Cats are better to adopt.
[Except for me, of course. But I'm already taken.]

OLD? Excuse me? I'm a four year old in her prime. *pats coiffed fur*

uhhh....well... since I'm the Responsible one in the family, I told Momma I'd pass her list on to you - and here it is:

What? Just like that? Not even a David Letterman Countdown or anything???
*grumbles* Ya want something done right, ya gotta do it yourself....

BUT FIRST...

We'd like to introduce you to a few very special Seniors waiting for their forever home at Wayside Waifs, Allie's Alma Mater:

Meet Snowball (he wants you to know he is really glad we didn't choose a name that was too awful, like Powder Puff, but he'd prefer Macho Man or King of the Jungle. Just meowin').

Snowball came to Wayside from a rural Missouri rescue group. After having spent most of his young adult years outdoors, he's ready to try the cushy life. And he's been practicing hard at Wayside. He's the current kitty crush for a lot of the peeps there who have had a taste of his mancat lovin'.
That pink nose of his is just adorable! (Sorry, dude. Uh, we mean macho. Yeah.)

And what about Sissy and Sassy, two gorgeous 8 year old sisters needing a new home. It just about broke their owner's heart to have to give them up.

We think it'd be a wonderful gift to them - and to their former owner - if these senior girls were given a forever home for the holidays, don't you?

And now...*drum roll*

THE TOP FIVE REASONS TO ADOPT A SENIOR CAT

1. They're not bratty like Faraday.

2.  They won't ricochet off your forehead at 2 in the morning.

3.  They (usually) won't chew your favorite set of ipod earbuds.

4.  They (often) make warm, cushy sofa companions on those cold winter evenings by the fire

5.  They come already vaccinated and "fixed" - and often even microchipped!

And the #1 Reason to Adopt a Senior Cat:

6. They need you.
