I and Love and You - stinky goodness or paws down? #chewyinfluencer review

I'm always interested in trying out a decent cat food that the three will eat, especially on the off chance that today is the day they wake up and decide they have had enough of their current fare.

So when Chewy offered up a sampler box of grain free paté, I said yes, please.

The brand is I and Love and You. And the flavors that came in our sampler were all grain-free paté. This particular form of cat food is almost the only kind our cats will eat. They turn their noses up at shreds and most chunks.

So I was interested in what our herd would think of this brand of paté. As you can see, somekitty decided right away that he was a little bit in love with the box. But what about ingredients, and flavor?

It contained three flavors - two of which I liked. The third, cod, is one I am less thrilled with, because I'm hesitant to feed fish to cats.  Did you know it's one of the top three most common food allergens?

However, they do have a rabbit (not in this sampler, but they do make it - I found when I did a little snooping) which I think is a great protein for cats.

I also like the fact that all their flavors are carrageenan-free. Carrageenan has been suspected as a possible culprit in inflammatory diseases in cats (although not definitively proven, therefore controversial). Since the question has been raised, though -- I avoid whenever possible.

Alhough they are grain free, they aren't vegetable or fruit free, so if you are watching for that - or if your kitty refuses to eat spinach - then this might not be an option for you.

As you can see, however, both boys gave these flavors two thumbs -- err, paws -- way up!

Overall, not a bad choice, especially if culinary tastes suddenly turn. (And as I can't currently mix my own homemade food like somekittys' auntie does!)

We'll definitely keep this brand in mind as an option for the future, and we thank Chewy for allowing us to try a brand we don't currently feed!

Although we received product from to review in exchange for our honest opinion, we were not compensated in any other way.
All opinions are our own.

  1. We tried that and everyone here loved it!

    The Florida Furkids

  2. We've never tried that before although Mommy almost asked Sydney if we could this month. She didn't so now after your review somemommy is in trouble! We have to have pate because someTortie has no teefs anymore.

  3. I had a whole bunch of comments to say, but that last photo.. I just sat and stared at that way too long.. warms my heart to see them eating canned food..

    1. I KNOW! It took somekitty long enough to break his kibble addiction, didn't it!

  4. We need you to come to our den to reteach Minko to nosh like that, wow! (Conversely, Pipo needs help to control his eating habits, OMC!!)

Glad you loved it...afterall the brand is! MOL!

    Have a great week!

  5. I bet even a hound like myself would be interested in the wabbit variety! Enjoy!

  6. Yums! Those do sound good! Or maybe you licking that pate makes it look so good. Or maybe both! Great review!

  7. Great review. Most of my kitties loved this too.

  8. This looks tasty food - we hope we can get it local to us sometime soon!

  9. Pawsome review! We didn't try this because I wasn't sure how juicy it would be...Mudpie's pate has to be super wet! (Of course, anything with chunks and shreds only gets the gravy licked off.) Sigh...she's hopeless, but I guess I'll keep her ;)

  10. Yes, but did Allie like it too??? I wouldn't eat the turkey cos I don't like cat food turkey. TW won't give me anything with carrageenan.

  11. We've tried this food and we really, we mean liked it too!

  12. Rabbit? I like rabbit! {Bear, you've never had rabbit!} Rabbit looks tasty. Perhaps I could ask for tasty whole rabbits? {oh, no} ~Bear Cat

Coolio! A comment? For US?
