LEAPing into a New Look!

Seems like forever since we've had a Leap Year, doesn't it? Since Leap Day is a special occasion, it seemed like the perfect time to launch our fun new look ~ and a fun new schedule, too!

Requisite LEAPING shot for Leap Day.

Lately we've been getting a lot of requests for more PeeMails. Well, we heard you, and they're headed your way. Along with more Monday Mimes, and a new series called Maxwell's Musings, too (think the feline edition of Deep Thoughts by Jack Handy). Plus all the usual crazy antics these three are up to on a daily basis.

Maxwell's Musings Inaugural Edition, right here:
DOOOD. Chasing brooms is WAY more fun, too.

We decided our mom's schedule could use a bit more wand toy time so we'll be taking weekends off, but you'll still get a full week's worth of cats, cats and more cats every Monday through Friday, right here!

Unless, like, you don't WANT more Faraday. But that's just crazy talk, right? I thought so.

Confession time, friends. Our mom and Glogirly have been planning this makeover for almost a whole year now ... but because of our humans' crazy work schedules, they just now got around to it. Good thing it wasn't, like, urgent and stuffs, huh?

~

Allie: Mother-r-r!! When I said I wanted a makeover, this wasn't exactly what I had in mind....
Faraday: Seriouslies Allie? You've been begging for a blog facelift. I think it's total purrfection.
Maxwell: Dood. You would. Your face is plastered front and center.
Faraday: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Everyone's a critic. You'll get your turn. You're just sore 'cuz I just called Header Dibs first.
Maxwell: *whispers* Yeah, um. She did say something about her name in lights....

Love the new look?
Want a fun, cool look of your own?
New business cards, maybe?
Or a slick, attention-getting media kit?

We highly recommend Glogirly Design!

Maxwell: I thought I might pose with the laundry while I watched BirdTV today.

Does Momma's shirt clash with my eyes, do you think?

Celebrating "No Brainer" Day

Allie: I was originally saving this for Obvious Day.

I mean, really. Its color leaves little doubt in anyone's mind to whom it belongs.

However, this was such a no brainer, I graciously agreed to allow Mother to use it today instead.

Tell a Fairy Tale Day

Faraday: Come here leetle feather toy, I won't bite you!

I just want to tell you a story.

It begins, "Once Upon a Time..."

That's it. I promise I won't bite you.

*chomp!*

What?!?!

You know Fairy Tales aren't real, don't you?

Thursday's Purrs on Girl Day: Bella

Today is Discover-E's annual Girl Day.
It's a movement that shows girls how creative engineering is and how engineers are changing our world.

So today, we're featuring a girl. Not just any girl, either. This girlcat is tech savvy. She guarantees she can go toe-to-paw with anyone in the computer engineering field.
Seriously!

Take a look:
"Looking for a new laptop? Sure, you COULD get one of those doomawatchies with the glowy thing and the clicky buttons (technical terms, those are!), but wouldn't you rather have me?

I'm the perfect size to sit on your lap. You'll never need to watch cat videos on YouTube again when you have me in HD all the time!"

"I have 64 gigs of cuteness and a terabyte of snuggle power. And talk about a sound system! My purr has to be heard to be believed.

Could a glowy-clicky-thing offer the relaxing kneading action that my paws can provide? Didn't think so. Plus, I run on eco-friendly, biorenewable kibble power, so you'll never have to plug me into the wall.

But you don't have to take my word for it. Come visit me at Wayside and try before you buy. I'll be here giving out free head butts and purrs.

My friends here say I'm a little shy, but don't worry-we'll be best buds once you start scratching my chin and neck.

Can't wait to meet you!
Purrs,
Bella"

This tech-savvy girlcat is available today at Allie's Alma Mater, Wayside Waifs.

Avant Garde #SundaySelfie

Maxwell: I thought I'd mix things up a bit today and take my selfie with one of my favorite toys.

Is it avant garde enough, do you think?

A #hallmarkmoment for Love Your Pet Day

Faraday: In case you wondered what our mom did with her week last week ... she was totally cheating on us with about 500 other animals. Well, in photos, at least.

Maxwell: The people she works with at Hallmark reeeeally love their furry (and feathered) family members. Once they were asked to send in pictures, she was flooded with emails!

She said a bazillion, but she might be exaggerating a bit.

Allie: Personally, I think she should have contacted the composer and asked him to write 7 or 8 additional verses to that song. (It is a catchy tune, don't you think?)

Bring on the cuddles, it's National Love Your Pet Day! Here are some cute pics of the furry family members Hallmarkers are celebrating. We'd love to see yours! #NationalLoveYourPetDay http://pco.lt/20KiGjN

PeeMail #652: Mommy's Agenda

Faraday: We're taking over the blog for the next few days while mommy finishes her latest video for Hallmark, celebrating National Pet Lover's Day this Saturday.

I'm a bit concerned she's gonna get so busy with other people and their pets that she'll forget about us. So I took matters into my own paws.

Boosh. DONE.

Random Acts of Kindness Day

Maxwell: Since today is Random Acts of Kindness Day, I decided to let Allie nap in my lounger.

Just a little nap.
A short one.
Very brief.

Allie: Maxie, I think we need to revisit the definition of kindness. I haven't been able to get a wink of sleep with you staring at me the whole time.

Maxwell: Okay, that's enough kindness for one day.

Don't forget to take your pink toy with you when you leave.

Do a Grouch a Favor Day

Maxwell:  Since tomorrow is National Do a Grouch a Favor Day, Momma thought you'd enjoy this photo of me grooming Faraday.

Faraday: Wait. Who you calling grouch, Mommy? Remember this photo???

I rest my case.

Sunday's Shelter Sweetie: Clouseau

"Hullo there. My name is Inspector Clouseau. A rather odd name, you say?

I happen to agree with you, and as yesterday was Get a Different Name Day, I'd be happy to oblige. Want to come over and we'll pick out a different name together?"

"I must admit, Valentine's Day spooks me a bit. Want to know why?

That pesky Cupid actually struck me with an arrow, he did! Least, that's what the kind vets here at Great Plains said when they examined me and fixed me up right and proper.

I'm good as gold now, fur's even regrown and everything. You'd never know it had happened."

"But just in case - and between you and me - I'd love to stay indoors, if it's all the same to you. That arrow just came out of nowhere!

I mean, I sort of understand, me being a handsome 2 year old tabby boy and all. But I think I prefer teh Great Plains way of finding love, and a forever family - from the safety of the nice sunroom here. No arrows in sight!

Won't you come over and see if you and I are purrfect Valentine material, today?

Purrs from The Inspector"
(cue Pink Panther music)

Inspector Clouseau is available for adoption today at the Merriam Campus of Great Plains SPCA.

Blame Someone Else Day

*epic glare-off*

Maxwell: uh, Allie, why are we glaring at each other when we know it's Faraday's fault?

Faraday: I swear!  I was FRAMED!

Thursday's Purrs: Cinderella

"Pleased to meet you! I'm Cinderella, and I can't wait to meet my Prince (or Princess) Charming.

I am a beautiful shorthaired girl, and my coat is in a pattern they call torbie -- a combination of tortoiseshell and tabby. I've been told that it's very pretty."

"I came from another shelter that was low on space, and I'm making lots of new friends here at Wayside.

People say I'm a real cuddle bug. I love to snuggle, and I give great headbutts and kitty kisses.

I'm smart too! I'm very playful and curious, and my favorite toy is a feather wand or a ball. It's only fitting that a cat named Cinderella should have a ball, right?"

"I'm a great cat, but I can get a little nippy if I've had enough attention. For that reason, I should go to a home with no kids under age 5. Little kids sure are cute, but they don't always understand kitty signals.

I'm all ready to be whisked away in my carriage, er, I mean carrier, and live happily ever after with you!

Love,
Cinderella"

Cinderella is available today at Allie's Alma Mater, Wayside Waifs.

Breaking Mews: TWO Tooth Fairies!

We know this news may come as a bit of a shock to you, gentle reader, but we swear it's the truth.

There are TWO of them.
WORD.

We present to you Exhibit "A":

Faraday: Mowzers, LOOK Maxie, the Tooth Fairy's using Aunt Connie's address!

And she knows how much kitties looove tissue paper, too!

*nose*nose*rustle*rustle*

Hrmpf. THIS PAPER SHALL NOT DEFEAT ME!

I SEE YOU IN THERE, LEETLE TOY!

Erm, Mommy?  ...a little help here, pleez?

Cooolio!  A BUG, with alpaca stuffings!

Purrfect for nomming on with my remaining teefs.
(And unlike some kitties, I have ALL my fangs. RAWR.)

MO-O-OMMMM! There are more bugs in heres!

***

Later that same day ... Exhibit "B" arrived:

Allie: "sorry the tooth fairy's late" ... Interesting. From the address on this package, I must deduce that the tooth fairy is attempting to throw us off the scent. Moving around, using different addresses and such.

This one comes from our Aunt Ellen!

Hm. Maxie's still recovering, and Faraday's distracted by the other Tooth Fairy package ...

I think I'll just test drive a few of these for them first.

Ooh you lovely blue fellow. I'm usually a pink girl, but one whiff and I was all yours!

:::swoon:::

I'll just be keeping this one....

Fine, Allie, but you just keep your distance from this one, are we clear?
(You too, Ashton! And Waffles, you have your own. I know. We've SEEN it.)

Faraday: Sweeeeeeet!  My own chicken leg!

But the best of the gifts Aunt Ellen sent us?
Maxie got his tooth back.

And from the look of things, he is not letting go. (we don't blame you, dood. We wouldn't either.)

***

We were deeply touched by these two packages!
We dearly love our Aunt Connie,
and there is no better friend to kitties than our Aunt Ellen.

If you haven't yet made their acquaintance, please do.

Aunt Connie's blog:  Tails from the Foster Kittens
Aunt Ellen's blog: 15 and Meowing

Thank you both, so much!
