Yes, that's actually what the Shoebox team has been calling these rejects for the (many) years our mom has worked there. "Funny, but no" is a legend around Hallmark. So we thought we'd add some of these "rejects" into the 'Toon Tuesday rotation.

Toon Tuesdays feature animal (and sometimes human) humor created by the peeps over at Shoebox Greetings (a tiny little division of Hallmark) - where our mom works, too!
I do not get it. Perhaps I am not awake enough....
ReplyDeleteUs too. We must be a bit thick. Have a terrific Tuesday.

ReplyDeleteI got the song reference but what does it have to do with roofers? I guess I am of the wrong generation....
ReplyDeleteSorry guys! And now you know why THIS particular one was a funny...but NO. The guy who wrote this has an *extremely* dry sense of humor and the point to his joke was,
ReplyDelete"hey! whaddaya mean there's no business like show business? What about my Uncle Bob? He never gets any respect. How about shining a spotlight on someone other than entertainers for a change, willya?!?"
This is TOTALLY cracking us up, and we can't WAIT to tell Bill his joke totally BOMBED. *snicker*

Yesterday they told you you would not go far, that night you opened and there you are. Next day on your dressing room they've hung a star! Let's go on with the show...Sing Faraday, Sing!
ReplyDeleteAre you getting a new roof? We got one lke 18 monthsago. Lots of noise.
ReplyDeleteAh hahahaha OH Faraday you can belt them out like no other!
ReplyDeleteSo dry, it's arid!! Big cracked smile here!! :D
ReplyDeleteHAHAHA!!!! ...ok...NOW we get it.
ReplyDeleteJust please, Faraday. Enough with the singing. We don't need to encourage Waffles.
; ) Katie
Thanks for the hint! We needed it!
ReplyDeleteOddly enough, your website is being banned from my work computer as a "music" site and I can only access it from my home laptop. Do you think they heard Faraday?
MOL! The head peep saw this on her phone earlier and has been humming the song ever since! It's a real earworm.
ReplyDeleteOh noes! Now we'll be singing that too!
ReplyDeleteMommy snorted at Sparkle's comment!
ReplyDeleteWe love FUNNY BUT NO!
Have a great Wednesday!
That card gets a reject from us as well, but we thought the singing was quite nice. XO, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
ReplyDeleteLike most people I got the song but then just kinda got confused - perhaps if Uncle Bob is feeling dejected we should hold a wip-round. OOOO here's an idea we could do a sponsored sing to raise some funds. Everybody after three....one...two...
