A Chanukah Conundrum

Maxwell: Dood, I wouldn't do that if I were you.
You're not going to get any more Chanukah gelt from Hanukkah Harry at that rate.

Faraday: Pfft. I already scored my bonito flakes and wand toys. Plus there are only three nights left. Alls we get now are things like socks and litter boxes. I'll just use yours.

Maxwell:  ... hard to argue with that logic....

Our Secret Paw

Our mom is the cruelest human on the face of the Earth.
Seriouslies.
Do you know how many days it's been since Chanukah?
And did you know our Secret Paw gift has been sitting in our fambly room for days and days?

Waiting for a "nice, sunny day," she says.

As if that's okay.

Well, we can tell you this: it was worth it!

But since our dad is, like, at death's door (not really, just a flu that the totally worthless flu shot didn't prevent)  we told her we were okay with just teasing you about it today and giving you the scoop in technicolor detail tomorrow.

Basically, she just ran out of time, between snapping photos of our fab selves and making daddy chicken soup.

Here's what happened first:

Maxie was with Mommy when she opened the box.
He tried the whole "possession is 9/10 of the law" trick. But I wouldn't let him.

Guess who our Secret Paw was?  Truffles, Brulee & Mom Paula from Sweet Purrfections!

Maxie & I made a pact: if I didn't tell Allie, he'd split the loot with me. (check out my our totally rad Kong Wubbie!)

There may or may not have been a fight that ensued....

Stay tuned tomorrow for the Tell All!

Faraday, out.

Our (almost) Chanukah Tragedy

So Saturday night we lit the 5th candle in the Hannukah menorah, and all the cats were present, and we opened gifts and had a wonderful time.

Well, Faraday had a grievance to air, but that's because we're making him wait until the 8th night to open his Secret Paw gifts and his package from Aunt Connie. (And by the way, some brave soul needs to tell him they're for Allie and Maxwell, too....)

Maxwell hung out on the discarded gift wrap, until he decided to go exploring amongst the gifts.

Mind you, there were five adults in the room, carefully watching him. But still, before any of us could react, he jumped onto the table with the menorah ... and his tail brushed across the lit candles.

We all leapt up to "put him out" (thankfully he was only singed). But still.

Please let this be a warning to all during the holiday season:
open flames and your pet do not mix.

Even if you think you're monitoring the situation, all it takes is one brief second, and severe damage could occur.

I should have known better. I did know better. I thought I could prevent it. And I couldn't.

Protect your pets  ~ go electric.
(and cover the cords from pets who chew them!)

Wishing You...

From our home to yours, we wish you the happiest of holidays!

And today, we share in pictures how we kitties spent ours.
Meowmeowmans asked us to post a photo or two of how we decorate for Chanukah so here are a few pics of that:
Faraday hangs out on mantle with Hanukkiahs
More menorahs - and dreidels!
We kitties got to open our first present on the first night of Chanukah (Dec 8).
There was a package for all of us filled with toys and catnip!
(Allie claimed the pink ones, of course)
Then someone went crazypants over a crinkle ball.
We're not sure but there may have been jazz hands involved.
A fun time was had by all, and then we celebrated again on the 8th night.
Wowee, was it fun!

All we can say is that mommy & daddy now aren't the only pilots in the family.
"Up in the aaaaair...."
"...Junior BirdMan!"
"Yes, that's right..."
"...Girlcats fly too!"
Max the Engineer chooses Ground Crew duty
After that much excitement, a nap was most definitely in order.

We hope your holiday is filled with fun times and lasting memories!
