Amelia Earhart Day

Maxwell: What's this? No Boycats Allowed?

Allie: In honor of Amelia Earhart Day, we girls are taking over the blog, Maxie.

Seat backs forward and tray tables in their upright and locked positions, please!

Sunset at 3,000 feet. Yeah, a girl is flying the plane! #womenfly #femaleavators
Sunset at 3,000 feet.

Female pilots are rare - only 3% of all pilots are women.
For those of you who haven't seen the mom's new 'do -- hey, look! She's curly and didn't know, 'til it got cut!

On right downwind at KLXT, coming in for a touch-and-go at sunset
Small lake off our wingtip at sunset

Allie pilots her own aircraft #allieinthecockpit #girlcatsflytoo "Girlcats fly too, Mother!" FAST = Female aviators stick together!

And Finally ... From 2015, But Still Way Cool:

We love this photo our mom captured while flying on the 4th of July a few years back.

Turns out, in a 1-in-a-million shot, she captured the "largest firework ever in the U.S."...
just as it began to detonate!

She's never before - ever - seen a firework illuminate the landscape like this one did! And two years later, she still hasn't. No flying this year due to rain. :-(
