Fearless Friday

We're calling this post fearless Friday because it's The Day After.

The Day After what, you might ask?

The Day After Tragedy.

Amy & Allie
You see, last night, one of our most dear friends in Real Life and in the blogosphere  - Sebastian the Sensitive Soul - lost everything in a dreadful fire. Everything except the things most cherished and most important in this life: our loved ones.

And that's why we're calling today Fearless Friday, in honor of Sebastian and Amy and their family, who awoke this morning to face the day after a tragedy so fearlessly.

Some of their dear friends on twitter have begun a ChipIn account for them, just to help them get back on their feet (you know, insurance companies sometimes take a while to respond, but people still have to eat - we're funny like that).

And please hold a dear mutual friend of ours close in your hearts, thoughts and prayers today...she wasn't so lucky. Kathi lost her beloved kitty in last night's fire ... as well as all her earthly possessions.

Our hearts go out to her. *pawhugs*

  1. This is just so sad. We clicked on the news report on the fire and Mommy got all leaky when she read that some pets did not make it...including Kathi's kitty. Our hearts go out to Amy and Kathi and everyone else who lost their homes and furry friends in the fire.

  3. Thank you for updating. I put a link to your blog now in mine. I just feel so bad for everyone that lived in the building, and especially your friend who lost her kitty. It has to seem like some sort of nightmare.

  8. Once again the animal community comes thru. I'll be advertising a lot today too on Twitter for those that might have missed out on the news. Hopefully, the chip in and comments from so many will assure them that thru this sadness, they are well loved.

    1. We think the comments will help as much as the ChipIn -- it's so important to have the emotional support, too!

  10. We've already shared and can't imagine the devastating loss. Thank God everyone survived. It was so weird, as I addressed the envelope of the Hello Kitty watch she won in our giveaway, I wondered where she lived. Lisa, thank-you for doing this.

  12. One of my biggest fears is fire and losing my cats. We met Amy at Blog Paws and she is a lovely young woman and our hearts go out to her at this saddest of times. We Chipped In, too and will also put the Chip In Widget on our blog, too...

    1. Oh thank you SO much! Our other friend, Kathi, just posted a picture of her furbaby in emergency care. He has severe burns but will most likely make it. Her other cat - Cosmo - was 14. They're still looking for him - but assume he didn't make it.

  13. We have leaky eyes for your friend that lost her furbaby. That's Mom's big fear. Candy won't come when called so Mom's terrified that in an emergency she wouldn't be able to get all 3 of us into carriers and out of the house safely.

I have the chipin up on my blog too. Mom & I met Amy when we went to blogpaws and we love them too.
