Yes, that's actually what the Shoebox team has been calling these rejects for the (many) years our mom has worked there. "Funny, but no" is a legend around Hallmark. So we thought we'd add some of these "rejects" into the 'Toon Tuesday rotation.
We showed our first one on Halloween. Here's our second one - enjoy!
_____
Toon Tuesdays feature animal (and sometimes human) humor created by the peeps over at Shoebox Greetings (a tiny little division of Hallmark) - where our mom works, too!
Hawahwhahaahahhaa must have that one for my son in March ..xxxooxxxx

ReplyDeleteFunny but YES!
BOL! I cannot believe that was rejected...it's a good one!
ReplyDeleteha ha - that is funny. But M says she does hate that "whatever." It is a funny card and I'm surprised it was rejected also.
ReplyDeleteI expect they said "whatever!" when they rejected it!
ReplyDeleteI liked the one on Halloween. I'd buy a card like that.
ReplyDeleteLike, IDK but that would have been a best seller among parents of teens!
ReplyDeleteWe should have a Funny But No day on our blog too!
ReplyDeleteI can think of all sorts of things that Waffles does that would fit this. Maybe I need a Funny But No stamp.

No, no, no! This is way too funny to have been cut! Bwahahaha!
ReplyDeleteHahahaha!! I think you are proving there is a market for these cards... and it's us!
ReplyDeleteBOL made typist giggle!
ReplyDeleteWe think that one is excellent and can't imagine why it was rejected. Bet Hallmark could have brought in a pile of money with that one. Purrs and hugs, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
