Tomorrow: National Adoption Day

According to the Dave Thomas Foundation, National Adoption Day is a national effort to raise awareness of the more than 100,000 children in foster care waiting to find permanent, loving families.

We believe it's also a good opportunity to raise awareness of the more than 3.4 million cats in shelter care each year - hoping they're the lucky few who find loving homes, and not a death sentence.

Having been there myself, having experienced being homeless and without a family to call my own, this is a cause that really speaks to me.

Won't you consider opening your heart and home to a cat who needs rescue?
To a cat who needs someone to love and to call their own?

(But not my humans. I already share mine with two other cats. And at times, that feels like two too many. But I digress.)

Someday soon, I'll share my story with you. Believe me, it's worth the wait. ~ Allie

  1. We are so glad you ate in a warm and loving home, Allie, even if you have to share it with two brothers!

  2. I would love to have a cat again, but I don't think it will happen. Luckily, I had three amazing cats that left paw prints on my heart. ♥

  3. My human LOVES your story, Allie! Like, loves it the most out of all the stories. And she also wants your human to get done with her 100-word bio this weekend because, in her words, "laying out the author bios is the biggest PITA out of everything!" Something to do with awful kerning and tracking and text wraps and stuff. The book is almost, almost ready for proof!

  8. There's nothing more wondiferous (if that's not a word I'm making it one!) than opening your heart and home to a shelter kitty!

  12. We adopted our two cats as adults from the shelter, and I have my paws full with those two. No need for more, but Mom says some day when these guys are gone, she will adopt more.
