Did you know today is Tau Day?
That's math-speak for two Pi.
You know, 2π ? As in 2 x 3.14?
... are you listening?
Now, as I was saying, we Tauists feel the more superior number isn't Pi, which is 3.14.
It's clearly Tau, or 6.28.
And since Pi Day is celebrated on 3/14, for obvious reasons we chose 6/28 for Tau Day.
6/28 for 6.28 ... get it?
Now, if you'll just bear with me a moment Mister Mousie,
I'll elucidate on exactly why Tau is a far more logical and elegant representation ---
Where are you going? I was just getting started!
poor Maxie ....

ReplyDeleteThe Florida Furkids
Tau day? I thought for a minute you had misspelled Tao.
ReplyDeleteNo offense Maxie, but we'd run off too!
ReplyDeleteI wish that you had been my math teacher! It would have been much more fun.
ReplyDeleteYou lost us at Tau Day, Maxie. ;)
ReplyDeleteI never heard of Tau day and I took a lot of hard Math classes.
ReplyDeletePetcretry feels for your mousie, Maxie. He wants to go and forage while you babble on about mathematical issues. but it is funny you know...telling your mouse about math, MOL!! But you did it furry handsmely!
ReplyDeleteMousies must not do math.
ReplyDeleteThat moussie was distracting you from your purpose. I hope you captured it. In the meantime, I will go read the Tau Manifesto.
ReplyDeleteMaxie, we guess that mousie was more of a humanities-type mousie.
ReplyDeleteHumanities! Best comment of the day, LOL!!
DeleteLOL
DeleteThen Mom Paula pipes up (former math teacher) and says pi is more than 3.4 so the tauists are incorrect that their number is more accurate. MOL!
ReplyDeleteOops! We mistyped. We meant to say pi is more than 3.14...
DeleteThat made me LOL!!!!
DeleteWe think you lost Mr. Mousie at the beginning. MOL!
ReplyDeleteI didn't know the Tau day. I knew about Pi day. I think it'c cool for scientists and math students to have another one reason to celebrate :D
ReplyDeletePhotos of course great <3 Maxwell is so handsome!
*sits down at table and waits for the rest of the lecture*
