Maxie Feels the Pawbo Burn #ad

When last we left you, Faraday had decided that everykitty in this house needed to be as fit as he is.

So he ordered a
Pawbo+ Interactive Pet Camera, complete with a Laser Pointer Game (and way cool treat dispenser, but we digress) to get Maxie up and running.

Faraday exaimines the pawbo Sireless INteractive Pet Camera up close and personal, reading the instructions carefully, like a good kitty.

While Faraday does a little light reading, here's my impression of the camera:
  • The interface is the easiest of any wireless camera I've yet to try out. It immediately found my network, prompted me for the password, and - done. And it reconnects automatically when I move it from room to room and plug it back in.
  • The second feature I really reeeally like: it automatically syncs with my existing cloud account for any video you want to record. (Still photos save directly to your phone)

In my case, it's a Google Drive account, but it also interfaces with Dropbox. Downloading video clips is a breeze, and you don't need any fancy video app to play the clips - I tested them and they played fine with QuickTime.

This is nice, since I've heard other brands (none that I've ever used, though - so this is hearsay) require a cloud subscription for a fee, to access the footage.
Pawbo Wireless Interactive Pet Camera
This shiny new addition to our home comes complete with red dot and treat dispenser!
To be honest, about the only feature I can think of that the Pawbo+ camera doesn't have is the ability to pan and tilt. I'm not sure how much that would add to the final cost of the camera, but that's a feature I really enjoy, so I'd be interested in that addition.

The camera's not cheap - it retails for $199 - so if you're in it for that much and a pan/tilt feature was just an incremental cost, I'd want that on future models.

And of course, there's the Red Dot.
And .....
Closeup of Pawbo treat dispenser drawer
We can confirm the treat dispenser works. Very well, indeed.

Allie: Wait. Is that a treat dispenser I spy????

    Yep.
Want to see how well it works?

Faraday: Remember, Allie. I'm in control of the remote, so you only get treats when I say so.

And I say you have to exercise first to earn them.

Allie: You are such a brat.

Maxwell:  Whewww, whatta workout. I'm beat.

Allie: Really, Max? Really? You didn't even break a sweat. That's just a play for sympathy, and - newsflash - no one's falling for it.

Maxwell: Well in that case, I'll just head on over to my lounger ... unless you plan to push that treat button again?

Faraday: (yelling from off screen) You gotta EARN those, Maxie. Now drop and give me fifty!
Maxwell: That's exactly what I plan to do: drop into my lounger and give you a good fifty minutes of snooze time, starting .... NOW.

    Exercise is a 4(x2) Letter Word #ad

When last we left you, Faraday had "resolved" to help Maxwell "get fit."
We join our story, in progress:

Faraday: "insert tension rod into weight grip"... uh-huh ... *flips page in manual*
Maxwell: Dood, I'm not sure about this exercise thing ....

Faraday: Yada, yada, Maxie. You have to tone that belleh if you wanna be a housepanther like me.
Good thing I'm licensed as a Purrsonal Trainer.

Can't you just see yourself busting reps with those pawbells?

    Maxwell: *sniff* No. Not really.
Faraday: Now Maxie, just let me finish setting this weight bench up ... there you go!

    *cue tah-dahh SFX*

    Maxwell: uhhh, I don't think --

Faraday: Perfect! We'll get you started right away.

I'm offering the first month FREE as a New Year's special.
(After that, it's just easy monthly installments, direct deposited from your allowance into my account.)

Just sign this contract here and I'll have you fit in no time.

Please click to biggify and to read "fine print"

Maxwell: Dood, the only activity I'd participate in involves the Red Dot.
Faraday: Well, you coulda said that before I invested in that torture device equipment, Maxie. Seriouslies.

    Disgusted Faraday is disgusted.
    Disgusted Faraday is disgusted.
Faraday: That's okay, I can work with that.
In fact, I have just the thing.

Why don't you just sign that contract, Maxie, while I get this all set up.

Maxwell: I, uh, think I better have Momma my lawyer read this first ....

Faraday exaimines the pawbo Wireless Interactive Pet Camera up close and personal, reading the instructions carefully, like a good kitty.

Faraday:   mumble-mumble    plug it in, uh-huh    mutter-mumble    download the mobile app ...

MOMMY! I need your mobile phone, STAT!

That's right, folks. Faraday got a Pawbo+ Interactive Pet Camera to go along with those pawbells ...
and he's ready to turn Maxie into a lean, mean purring machine*.

The Mystery of the Missing Bird Seed #sponsored

Maxwell: Well, I finally managed to wrest our Vimtag Cloud Camera from Allie's pink claws. Just in time, too.

My BirdTV Channel is having some serious technical issues.

Maxwell looks intently at the Vimtag camera he hopes will help solve his mystery.
    "I'm counting on you, Vimtag."
I'm getting some serious signal interference. The bird seed keeps mysteriously vanishing.

closeup of bird feeder, clinging to window.

So I'm aiming the Vimtag right at our bird feeder, to catch the culprit!

    Vimtag camera, on the job!
My first clue came during the last snow. Check it out: see the muddy paw prints on the glass?
No bird made these, I can tell you that much!

...I think I'll just hang out with the camera for a while and see what we might discover...

What do you think Maxwell found out?
    Did he solve his mystery?
Did he finally get his BirdTV signal to clear up?

Sadly, no vishus squirls have consented to be interviewed on the BirdTV channel. *sigh*
But every time the mom goes out to adjust the antenna (*ahem* fill the bird feeder), they are ALWAYS hiding underneath it, eating the dropped seeds!

We'll catch you red-pawed soon, we just know it!

    Intruder Alert! #sponsored

When last we left our intrepid felines, they were engaged in a heated debate on who might have the use of the coveted Vimtag camera first:

    Allie or Maxwell?

Maxwell: Being a Scholar and a Gentlecat, Allie, I will graciously allow you the use of the camera first.

Faraday: Here, let me translate that for our readers.

Basically Allie threatened to do her patented Crouching Girlcat Hidden Whupa$$™ move on him if he didn't let her have the camera first.

    Maxwell: FARADAY! DOOD. *embarrassed look*

Faraday: Well, the truth hurts, sometimes, Maxie. Be a mancat about it and all, okays? (and because we all suffer if she doesn't get her beauty sleep....)

Allie: True. I have not been sleeping lately. Being vigilant for Intruders has had a negative impact on my nap time.  And I might get a teensy bit out of sorts.

Faraday: Seriouslies, you do not want to see Allie's Grouchy Face.

    (you were warned...!)

So, what did Allie do with the Vimtag?

It was incredibly easy to identify our surprise guest with our camera. You can turn on motion detection and set the Vimtag to record high definition video footage onto an external microSD card each time it detects motion.

And we got tons of footage. The camera recorded footage ALL.NIGHT.LONG. throughout the evening every time we had a visitor.

    Oh, and DOOD.
Seriouslies, you should have called first!
(And, uh, we need to talk to you about your chicken intake. But we digress.)

Allie:  FINALLY. I can rest easy, knowing my Vimtag is on the job.

I've got my eye on you, Waffles.

Maxwell's Theory of Everything (move over Einstein)

Maxwell: Thank you all for joining me for this momentous occasion.

If I may, I have a few equations to share with you...
and a conclusion that might just rock the scientific community.

If you will kindly direct your attention to the equation on the screen....
If you will kindly direct your attention to the equation on the screen....

That's right. I have proof that wormholes exist. And live, on this blog, we shall conduct the experiment to prove its existence.

As you can see by this diagram, the equation postulates the existence of an Einstein-Rosen Bridge connecting 2 universes.
As you can see by this diagram, the equation postulates the existence of
an Einstein-Rosen Bridge connecting 2 universes.

    Please, step into my laboratory.

Allie: This isn't a lab, Maxie. It's the basement. And this is your litterbox.
Maxwell: Space capsule, Allie. And this is Launch Pad 3, on loan from Cape Canaveral.
Allie: Uh-huh. You keep telling yourself that, Four Eyes.

Maxwell: What my Lovely Assistant Allie means is that this capsule appears to be the source of a wormhole, connecting our universe to a parallel one.

The event horizon appears to be situated just beneath the litterbox, and also appears to be triggered by localized movement.

And certain...materials...are disappearing from our side of the wormhole. Namely, my poo.
And certain...materials...are disappearing from our side of the wormhole.
Allie: What Maxie means is that his poo mysteriously disappears after each use.
Maxwell: That's what I was about to say, Allie.

And we're going to observe it back in Mission Control - as we stream it LIVE from a safe distance, by using our new Vimtag camera to record the phenomenon.

Vimtag camera, set at optimum angle to record the wormhole as the event horizon forms!

    Are you ready, Allie?
    In T-minus 10... 9... 8... 7... 6...
(uh, feel free to click on the video any time...)

Allie: *sigh-h-h* Maxie, this high definition Vimtag footage, recorded on a mini SD card stored in the camera PROVES your, ah, refuse... doesn't really disappear.

It just gets dumped (yes, bad pun) into this drawer in the bottom....

Maxwell: Ah, I may have transposed a few numbers in my calculations....

I'll...have to get back to you on that. (someone call the media and cancel my press release...)

    The Shocking Truth

    The Saga Continues...
When last we left our intrepid reporter, Faraday was convinced Allie was eating HIS dinner.
(Any takers on whether or not he got a DNA sample without bloodshed? Nah, didn't think so....)

Maxwell: Dood, instead of cleaning out Momma's savings account with that laser grid (it is returnable, I hope) you might try something else...

Someone tell Tom Cruise to come get his Laser Grid.

Maxwell: What about a Vimtag Camera?

Talk about Plug-n-Play. This was a snap: plug in,
download app, wait 50 seconds: BOOM, instant feed.
Maxwell: You can control it manually from anywhere - your computer, your mobile phone, your iPawd... It's especially easy on mobile devices, where a simple paw swipe left or right sends the camera panning across the room. And it swivels almost 360 degrees. Talk about having eyes in the back of your head!

And it's wireless. (Unlike the current one the humans have, which won't work anywhere without an ethernet cable, and doesn't move at all).

And you can communicate. BOTH ways. Just think of the possibilities.

Faraday: Well, why didn't you say so, Maxie?
Maxwell: Uh, dood, I just did....

    Later that day...

Faraday checks out all his Vimtag feeds on his computer.
    *cough* simulated *cough*

Faraday: Check out my Mission Control! I have Security Vimtags EVERYWHERE.
Purrfect coverage, and so easy to operate remotely. See?
I had Mommy demo it for you. Watch the mouse (in yellow circle) navigate through the app:

HOLY CAT! I can DVR BirdTV while I'm napping, and binge-watch all my favorite episodes any time I want! Sweeeeeeeet!

So...the answer we've all been dying to hear:
    WHODUNIT?

    Faraday: Seriouslies, Maxie?  Seriouslies?!?!?!?

    ***
    From the momma
Personally, I love this and am going to order a second one.

It's SO much better than the one I have. It's true, you get what you pay for:

    My old camera?
     - Has to be wired. Can only use in ONE location
     - Has no capabilites. At all.
     - Was a total pain to set up.

     The Vimtag?
    - Works wirelessly in every area of my house
    - I can hear them, they can hear me
    - Genuine plug-n-play, and easy to operate.

I was in St. Louis this weekend testing it -- it's so cute to see the cats try to find me when I use the 2-way microphone!
