Thursday's Purrs: Zelda

"Hi, I’m Zelda! Have you seen my mane? Yep, that’s what most people notice first about me. It’s quite pretty, don’t you think? People say it makes me look regal. But really, I’m just a friendly, sweet little girl. I’m not a diva or anything!"

"I’ve got lots and lots of energy, and I love to play! That’s my favorite thing to do. I especially love feather toys. Put a feather on the end of a wand or string, and you’ve got my attention for sure!

I think my video showcases my excellent stalking and pouncing skills, don't you?"

"I’m also very curious and friendly. I love to say hello to everybody who comes into the cat room at the shelter, and I make friends right away. If you came down to the shelter to meet me, I’m sure we’d be besties from the start. Right now, I’m hanging out here looking for a truly forever home. I don’t mind it here so much, but with all my energy and love of playtime, I’d sure like to get out of this kennel and be able to run and play in a real home.

I should mention, though, that I will need to be strictly an indoor-only kitty. If I do go outside I will need to be safely on the end of a leash or closely supervised by you.

You see, I am all four-paw declawed, and I wouldn’t be able to take care of myself if I somehow got out on my own. Being four-paw declawed is pretty hard on us kitties sometimes."

"Sometimes when our claws have been taken away, we start to use our mouths a bit more than we should. I’m afraid I do that from time-to-time. But the nice volunteers at the shelter have been working with me and I’m getting much better about it.

If you bring me home, I’m sure they’d be glad to show you how to use positive reinforcement to remind me to be gentle. I’m an excellent student!

So, if you’re looking for a frisky little friend with a big mane and an even bigger heart, please come to see me at Kansas City Pet Project!

Purrs,
Zelda"

Zelda would love for you to visit her at KC Pet Project's Main Shelter today!
