Paw prayers for them both...Amy's traveling out of town a short distance & Kathi may take CJ in for his follow-up a day early. Saturday was CJ's first day without pain medication, and he didn't do so well that first day without (he kinda made a tiny mess on Kathi's bed - worried her).
But yesterday he woke her up at 5:30 because he was hungry - a very good sign. And...after breakfast, he sat in the window for the first time since the fire, for a bit of bird watching!
Bird watching can be exhausting for a kitty, you know? |
(in case anyone wonders, that's a stuffed Jayhawk - KU's mascot - that he's snoozing with.)

ReplyDeletewe know that first day back will be hard....so much worry. But we are glad they are doing well and CJ looks good!
ReplyDeleteIt must be so hard to go back to work after what happened and leave the furries at home. We're glad CJ's back to bird watching and asking for food. That's so encouraging.
ReplyDeleteGood luck to da kittehs n der humanz on dis first day back at werks.
ReplyDeleteBird watching IS exhausting. I should know... I do a lot of it.
ReplyDeleteI hope Kathi nd Amy both have a good day at work and that the cats greet them warmly on their return home! Deep breath and go for it!
ReplyDeleteAwww bless CJ's heart. Those are all good signs that he was looking for brekkie and sitting in a sunny window. Maybe it will be good for Amy and Kathi to try to get back to regular life again (as a regular as it can be for them).
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like CJ is doing good! I can tell the burns on his face are healing. I'm sending lots more purrs his way.
ReplyDeleteCJ is looking a bit better! We continue to purr for him and his mom.
ReplyDelete((((((((((((hugs))))))))
ReplyDeleteAww, we hope his hurty places are starting to feel better! I bet it's hard for a kitty to come down off the bigtime pain meds. I think once he gets over the withdrawal he'll be good--and it sounds like he had a good day with breakfast and bird watching.
ReplyDeleteThe Human said it hurts her heart a little to see his burny places. but she is real happy to see him snoozing so peacefully with his sweet paws up like that. Me too. We sends him lots of love and healing.
