{52 Snapshots} Week 40: Framed
The Photographer's Motto: Shoot. Crop. Crop Tighter.
Framing can make such a difference in the impact of a photo.
What do you think? Do you ever crop your photos after shooting?

Systolic/diastolic.
That's the two numbers that make up your blood pressure reading: the upper and the lower numbers.
But you can't even get a reading for the lower number on a cat!
It's really hard to take a cat's blood pressure. Especially if your vet doesn't have the right equipment.
Read more about it in our article on Catster!

A Girlcat and her Yard
Mother says I shouldn't be out in the side yard without supervision....
So she snapped this photo and immediately bundled me back inside (in a most undignified manner, I might add).
Treating the boys like this, I would completely condone.
But honestly...
Doesn't she understand I'm an Independent Girlcat of Means?

National Tell a Joke Day
Faraday: Aunt Connie told us today was National Tell a Joke Day.
But I'm not sure you're ready for this.
Are you? Seriouslies?
A CAT-HAS-TROPHY!
What did the alien say to the cat?

"Take me to your LITTER"!!! *ba-doop-boop*
What do you get if you cross a panther with a snowman?

FROSTBITE!!!
Ahhh, I crack myself up....
But I'm not sure you're ready for this.
Are you? Seriouslies?
Faraday: Oookay, you asked for it. Lemme just step up to the mike.
*testing...1..2..mimimimimiiiiiii*
What is it called when a cat wins a dog show?

National Sense of Smell Day
Yes, it's actually a "day". It's an opportunity for teachers to promote learning about how the sense of smell works.
Did you know the domestic cat's sense of smell is about 14 times that of a human?
We kitties would like to take this opportunity to remind you humans to scoop out our litterboxes.
(Frequently, please! It smells much worse to us than it does to you!)

In Honor of Haiku Day
Alive, and yet not ---
Flipping, flying through the air,
The mouse entices.
So how'd we do
with our first Haiku?

Birthday Blues
Dear Maxwell, it hardly seems you could already be five years old!
We're ever so glad we took a scruffy (stinky) little kitten into our home that November day. And we thank you so much for putting up with us those first 5 months, as we (incessantly, it seemed) plied you with medications to make you well again.
You've grown into a handsome mancat! We love those piercing blue eyes...
The intense focus you give any and all wand toys. Even the teensy little 'mewp!' you have for a meow, that politely begs for playtime.
And even though we're sorry as can be that you've had to have so many teeth removed, we adore the goofy range of expressions you never tire of giving us.
...yeah, that one, too.

Sepia #SundaySelfie
Maxwell: I asked Momma if we could add a little drama into today's selfie. Here I am with Miz Ellen's Catnip Kiss (airborne!). Is it dramatic enough?

{52 Snapshots} week 15: Blessings
Allie: It's good for a kitty to count her blessings every once in a while.
I realize I have several. For one, all the nasty, cold, white stuff has forever been banished (until next winter).
And the yard is turning green, the trees are all in bloom....
But I think most of all, I count my biggest blessing...
The brats aren't allowed outside!
Ah, solitude. A blessing, indeed.
