National Trivia Day

In honor of National Trivia Day, we present you with two Cat Facts:


 1. The average cat sleeps between 13-18 hours a day.



 2. A cat's ear has 32 muscles, as compared to only 6 in humans. And they can rotate them 180 degrees, independently!

    I think I am a cat- I could easily sleep that much. I can't move my ears like that though :)

    I think my cat sis Sophie sleeps about 22 hrs a day, usually she is only awake at 4am to wake us all up for no reason and then she sleeps the rest of the time.

    Yesterday I was playing with Annabelle and was moving stuff underneath her blanket and I watched her ears like little antennas moving back and forth able to completely detect each moment I made with her toy under the cover. Cat ears are incredibly sensitive to sound.

    I will reply with goat trivia - did you know that a goat's eyes can see 340°? They can - it's because they are prey animals and need all the help they can get to get away.

    Sparkle always said that cats needed all those muscles in their ears for our multitude of moods - since we don't have eyebrows, we need another way to express ourselves!

    Allie, that is a beautiful selfie! We are still practicing ours. So far we just get selfies of ears and tails. Mumsy says, that very interesting about the sleeping for 13-18 hours a day. She also says she thought there were 24 hours in a day, but she guess there must really only be 14 to 19. Yeah, she's just real funny :-|
